Please use good Judgement as you encourage those publishers to reach out for Regular Pioneer service.....
Those who do not think that they will have the circumstances to reach the annual hour requirement once the pandemic subsides should not be approved as new regular pioneers.Just seeing the term "reach out" in print after all these years, still gives me the creeps.
As followers of Jesus who pride themselves on strictly adhering to his example, it's heartwarming to see that they use the biblical terms "publisher, pioneer and auxiliary pioneer" the way Jesus did and have a set hourly quota the way he had for his Disciples.

Do any of you ex JW`s ever feel ashamed or embarrassed to admit you were once a JW? To your now friends / associates ?
by smiddy3 ini ask this now because i have been living in this town for the past 14 years and the circle of friends i have now i have never let on i am an ex jw.. i`m talking about 30-50 people at least.. not that the subject has ever really come up , but i think they would be shocked / amazed that i was a ( i hate this word ) a "devout" jw for 32 years going around knocking on peoples doors trying to convert them to the religion .. yet every now and again i get tempted to.. how say you ?.

Not necessarily embarrassed but don’t exactly broadcast it either. When I have mentioned it, most have a vague notion or no idea at all about who JWs are.
So much for all the years wasted spreading the good news and feeling like a “spectacle” and an “object of hatred.” It appears nobody even noticed .

the 8 million jw's will be tasked with educating these ones.

They claim that survivors of Armageddon won’t reach perfection for 1000 years. What about Armageddon survivors who were terminally sick or elderly before Armageddon ? Will they die of old age or illness after Armageddon and be redirected later?

The Eyes Of Tammy Faye
by smiddy3 ini just watched this movie today and still not sure what to make of it .. did / do these people really believe what they preached ?
on the one hand i would say they did ,however on the other hand they knew religion was a gold mine for them .. and their lifestyle how they live reflected that .. and i can see the gb of the wt in it for the same reasons but they do it without all of the theatrics that these televangelists seem to thrive on.. i look forward to your thoughts on the movie..

I'm sure that Tammy Faye Bakker (and the man who married her), were just crazy enough to believe that God actually spoke to them.

Lawsuit: I said GB member Barr that my Bethelite stepfather abused me; he did nothing
by Corney inhere's an excerpt from the recent lawsuit deborah hines v. watchtower bible and tract society of new york et al (paragraphs 158-180), one of 29 known cases brought against the org pursuant to the ny child victims act.
what should be kept in mind is that gerrit lösch apparently worked in europe (the austrian branch and eastern europe) at the time when the abuse was allegedly reported to him (not a gb member then).. plaintiff was raised a member of the jehovah’s witnesses.
she primarily attended meetings at various congregations in arizona.

As a former Bethelite who knew Jack Barr and sat with him at the Governing Body table for meals every day, I don't see this young woman's account being far fetched at all especially back then. The GB were out and about and you'd see them especially if your work was in the offices rather than in the factory. If her father was so valued for his services in the video production that they actually allowed her as a young girl to live at Bethel as well, it could also mean that she had an unusual amount of access to the "higher ups" in the organization.
Jack Barr was a seemingly harmless kindly old guy who wore vintage 1940's suits and had been in that religious institution since the very early and hard core days of its existence . He was very out of touch with what life was like in the real world and with women and especially with young girls. I can easily see this matter being too big of a dose of reality for these idealistic old men to fully grasp the enormity of or to wrap their minds around. I could absolutely see the "cognitive dissonance" kicking in and he and the others dismissing this "emotional" young girls claims and putting the "organization" first by minimizing the events she reported. They would be all about keeping this exciting and expensive new venture into videos they'd stuck their necks out for, from being sullied or slowed down somehow.
The old guard were unbelievably out of touch and hard core religious fanatics especially when real life and their beloved organization, crossed paths. They are the same bunch that expected their members to go to prison, forego marriage, children and education for Jehovah. They expected their members to let themselves and or their children die over the directives they made in the name of Jehovah regarding blood and other medical matters, and expected that they'd view it as a privilege to do so. Their world was/is literally the center of the universe to them and there would be no way an emotional young girls tale of woe would be believed over a highly valued older male who denied or minimized the wrongdoing done to her.
If the governing body dismissed her claims, it would be easy for her local elders to follow suit.

by exjwlemming inthe other night, my wife and i were driving through a upscale suburb with old, large, beautiful homes.

Oh yeah...that was a JW thing for sure. JW's who didn't even know each other did and may still do this all over the world. It was part of the world wide unity they were so proud of. From the JW teachings, they all drew the same conclusion that when all the non JW's of the world were wiped out, their reward would be all the spoils left behind. Some were even vengeful about it. When they were rejected at the door, they'd come back and say to the car group. "That's Ok...I'm going to own that house after armageddon."
It never entered their head that the governing body will probably be in charge of who gets what and I'm sure they'll be charging rent or at the very least, deciding what color you can paint the house they allow you to have. There'll be no room in the new system for individualism.
